Home Made Treats For Your Furry Friend!

Whether you're a dog person or a cat person, everyone likes to spoil their furry little friend. Making treats for your pal is not only fun but also a good way to know exactly what they are eating. Here's two healthy and easy recipes for your favorite pet, be it a dog or a cat.

For man's best friend

Peanut Butter Biscuits

What you need:
1c flour
1/4c oats
1/4c unsweetened shredded coconut
1/2tbsp baking powder
1/2c creamy organic peanut butter

1/2c milk
1tbsp olive oil

1tbsp applesauce

What to do:
Combine all your dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients, mix until thoroughly a dough is created. Knead the dough into a big ball. These can be baked like human cookies, but it's always fun to roll the dough out onto wax paper and cut it into fun shapes--like dog bones or fire hydrants. On an unlined baking sheet, bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Your pup will love these!

For the sassy cat in your life

Tuna Treats

What you need:
3-oz tuna in oil (undrained and shredded)
1/2c wheat flour

1/2c dry milk

1tbsp vegetable oil

1 large egg
1/4c water

What to do:
First, combine your tuna, dry milk, and flour. Once those are mixed, add in your water and vegetable oil. Set the mixture aside, and beat your large egg. Fold the beaten egg into the tuna mixture.
Shape the dough into marble-sized balls. Watch out, the dough will be sticky! Arrange the balls onto a greased baking sheet, and flatten them lightly as you would peanut butter cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, carefully turning them over halfway through. Allow to cool on a wire rack before you feed these to your frisky feline friend!
